This week’s blog is about some of the cool stuff I’ve been getting up to this summer. From playing in the garden, to checking out local businesses, it’s been a great summer so far! Hard to believe it’s already August! Here’s some fun stuff I’ve had a chance to do in Bruce County this summer!
I’ve been spending lots of time in the vegetable garden, enjoying the progress, being bested by zucchinis yet again (lol), and learning so much, as I do every year. I love gardening, and I only love it more each season. There’s always more to learn, and I’m learning every day. It’s challenging, relaxing, rewarding, and a fantastic sense of accomplishment.
I checked out Hive ‘N Hoe in Kincardine (Lazy J Ranch), and got some amazing honey and other gifts for family members. This is a family business with such friendly service, and excellent products! I’ll definitely be getting more gifts and goodies for home there in the future. Next time you're in Kincardine, make a point of stopping in here and checking out what this very cool spot has to offer. Their honey is incredible! So are their jams and their candles. My family loved the gifts, and we enjoyed some goodies at home, too!
Been loving my time in the kitchen this summer, getting as many things on the go at a time as I can. The best is when I can find most of the ingredients I need in my garden. Cooking is as therapeutic for me as gardening is. I've been looking into putting a few homemade goodies on the market, so stay tuned! Once I have something on the go, I'll post about it on Instagram!
Went to the Ice Cream Shack in Kincardine a couple of times with friends and family! This is not to be missed. I only eat ice cream a couple of times per season, and I make a point of going here to satisfy my sweet tooth! (I don't have an ice cream pic, so here's a picture of Pippen waking up in the morning, and being ridiculously cute. He's just as sweet as ice cream.)
Took Pippen on a day long kayak trip for his 2 year adoptaversary. We headed out of town to do the Grand River for this trip. We did 20kms, and he was the bestest boy, as always. Whoever says that chihuahuas aren't amazing adventure buddies has definitely never had one, themselves. Pip is the best adventure buddy of all-time!
I’ve spent some quality time at the beach, and I love it. I love being a beach bum when I can make it out. Definitely going to be spending as much time at the beach as I can before the summer ends.
Jaime (Frank & Rita’s/Halo Hut) and I held a wellness event at Orchard’s Landing Paisley. I had a great time getting to chat with some of the Paisley locals, and bought an absolutely incredible loaf of cheddar and chive bread from Kirstian. I’ve since tried her garlic parmesan bread as well. Also amazing! Thanks again to everyone who came, and a big thank you to Sandra for letting us host our event at Orchard’s Landing.
I’ve started practicing Holistic Nutrition and Health Coaching every Wednesday at The Healing Collective in Paisley. I’m really excited to join this dynamic group of women, helping people on the path to taking their health back. I’m very excited for this next chapter, and I’m truly grateful for this opportunity to help people reach their personal health and wellness goals. From cleansing and detoxing, to eating for optimum health, to cognitive behavioural coaching (coming this autumn!), I can not only tell you how to take your health back, I can also give you the tools you need, and help you maintain your progress. I'm taking walk-ins, so come in on a Wednesday between 9am – 5am. If I’m not with a client, I’ll be happy to book you on the spot for an initial intake. If you want to come in and say hi, I would love to meet you and tell you some more about what I do.
It’s been a busy summer, but I’m grateful for the time I’ve had to spend with great people, in great places around Bruce County. I’m excited to see what the rest of the summer brings!
